Chip maker ARM said earlier today it is launching a new platform to System on Chip (SoC)
The innovative platform will be available through the free use of its Cortex-M0 processor technology.
ARM's sales offer includes the Cortex-M0 System Developer software, as well as a free 90-day
licence for its Keil MDK development tools.
After enjoying ARM's free trial and low-cost prototyping, developers who desire to enter
commercial production are offered a simplified and standardised $40,000 fast track license,
the company said this morning.
The package, which is now available through ARM's Design Start portal, is intended to make
it far easier to design, prototype and produce SoC components, ARM added.
"The DesignStart portal is available to all SoC designers, but will be particularly valuable
to companies that are incorporating ARM technology for the first time," said Nandan Nayampally,
the ARM CPU group's marketing manager.
ARM says it's at the heart of the world’s most advanced digital products. Its technology
enables the creation of new markets and the transformation of industries.
The company designs scalable, energy efficient-processors and related technologies to deliver
the intelligence in applications ranging from sensors to servers, including smartphones, tablets,
enterprise infrastructure and the Internet of Things (IoT).
ARM's innovative technology is licensed by its industry partners who have shipped more than sixty
billion Systems on Chip (SoCs) containing its intellectual property since the company began its operations
Together with its Connected Community, ARM is breaking down barriers to innovation for developers,
designers and engineers, ensuring a fast and reliable route to market for leading electronics companies.
